Seasonal lights look nice, but they take a lot of work each year. Permanent lighting removes most of that work.

Here is how permanent lights compare:

• No more ladders. Seasonal lights mean climbing up to hang them and climbing up again to take them down. Permanent lights go up once.
• No storage or tangles. There are no boxes of lights to store in the garage. There are no knots to undo next year.
• Fewer burnt out bulbs. LED lights last much longer than old bulbs. You spend less time hunting for the one bulb that went out.
• Lower energy use. LED lights use far less power than older bulbs. You can run them for hours without worrying about your power bill.
• Year-round use. String lights only come out for a few weeks. Permanent lights work for every holiday and every season.
• A clean look. The slim track hides the wiring. Your home looks neat in daylight and bright at night.

Many homeowners also like the safety side. Fewer trips up a ladder in winter weather means fewer chances of a fall.

A licensed electrician from Same Day Electric handles the whole job. Here is what the process looks like.

1. Free estimate. The technician visits your home and looks at your roofline. You talk about where you want lights and how you plan to use them.
2. Custom plan. The technician measures your home and plans the layout. The plan covers where each run of lights goes and where the power will come from.
3. Power check. Permanent lights need a safe power source. The technician checks your outdoor outlets and circuits. If your home needs a new outdoor outlet or a dedicated circuit, the team can handle that too.
4. Installation. The team mounts the track and lights along your roofline. Wiring is kept neat and out of sight.
5. Setup and walkthrough. The technician connects the lights to the app and tests every section. You get a quick lesson on how to change colors and set schedules.

Customization & App Control

The best part of permanent lighting is how easy it is to change. Everything runs from an app on your phone.

With the app, you can:

• Pick any color or mix of colors
• Choose patterns that twinkle, chase or fade
• Save themes for each holiday
• Set schedules so lights turn on at dusk and off at bedtime
• Switch to soft white for everyday accent lighting

One night your home can glow red and green. The next week it can show your team’s colors. On a normal night, warm white light can highlight your home and make your entry feel welcoming.

Permanent lighting can also fit into a larger smart home system. If you already control your lights from your phone, our indoor lighting services can help your inside and outside lights work together.
